Leave Only Footprints…

Growing up in Perth, Western Australia I developed a fascination for far-away places. Which is lucky because from Perth, pretty much everywhere is far-away. I also have a life-long passion for the ocean, starting from childhood adventures in small boats through a stint in the navy when a big steel ship was my home for some years.
As soon as I was able I began to travel to see these far-away places that had fascinated me for so long. I inherited a passion for photography from my Father, so taking photos on my travels seemed the logical thing to do. Of course, this was in the days of 35mm film, when it cost a buck every time you pressed the shutter button. Fortunately now the digital world means I can be as shutter-happy as I like.
In my travels I have encountered some of the most amazing landscapes, scenery and wildlife. Some were familiar and some so utterly different to what I was used to at home in Western Australia. I have always believed in the mantra ‘Take only photos and leave only footprints’ and have become fascinated with capturing images of wildlife and scenery that are completely undisturbed by my having been there.
Photographing wildlife is a particular passion. I’m continually intrigued by animals and the inventive means they have developed or learned in order to find food, continue their species and mostly, avoid becoming someone else’s next meal.
My interest in travel has now led me to live and work in Malaysia, a place where I feel extremely grateful to be welcomed. My travels around the world continue and I am now very pleased to be able to share some images of past travels with you, and hope that you will look forward to seeing images of my future adventures.
